Does the Suzuki Wagon R AC stop cooling in traffic o r on idle?

In my 2018 Wagon R VXR, the AC works well when driving on open roads but stops cooling properly when I’m stuck in traffic o r at a signal. As soon as I accelerate, it cools again. Is this a common issue? Could it be related to the condenser fan, radiator heat, o r compressor clutch not engaging properly at low RPM?

Yes, this is a very common issue in the Wagon R, especially in cities like Karachi and Lahore.

Main Reasons:

Weak o r non-functional condenser fan – This fan helps cool the refrigerant gas. If it’s weak o r not working when the car idles, the system overheats and stops cooling.

Poor radiator and condenser airflow – If the front grill area is dusty o r blocked, heat doesn’t escape.

Low RPM – The AC compressor runs slower at idle, reducing gas pressure and cooling.

Compressor clutch slippage – At idle, the clutch may disengage if it’s weak o r overheating.

What to Do:

Check if the condenser fan runs when AC is ON and car is stationary.

Clean the radiator and condenser with water pressure.

Get compressor clutch and RPM idle settings checked.

Tip: Avoid staying idle with AC on for long periods in extreme heat.
