How does AC usage affect the Suzuki Wagon R’s fuel consumption in hot Pakistani weather?

With extreme summer temperatures in cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Multan, drivers often keep the AC running constantly. Does this significantly affect the car’s fuel economy, especially with a small 998cc engine?

The Wagon R has a small 998cc engine, and running the AC adds extra load to it. In summer:

Fuel economy s by 1.5 to 3 km/l depending on load and driving speed.

In stop-and-go traffic, the engine works harder to power both the car and the AC, increasing fuel use.

Older AC systems o r poor maintenance e.g., dirty AC filters o r low gas further strain the engine.

Tip: Use AC wisely—turn it off when not needed, and keep windows slightly cracked during initial cooling to reduce interior heat buildup.
