How long does the water pump last in a Suzuki Wagon R under Pakistani conditions?

My Wagon R has crossed 80,000 km, and someone told me the water pump might need replacement soon. There are no visible leaks o r major overheating issues yet. What is the average lifespan of a water pump in Wagon R under Pakistani heat and traffic conditions? Should I replace it as preventive maintenance?

Under normal conditions, a factory-fitted water pump in Suzuki Wagon R lasts around 80,000–100,000 km.

However, in Pakistan, where:

Roads are dusty

Heat is extreme

Tap water o r low-quality coolant is used

The pump may wear out sooner — even around 60,000 km if maintenance is poor.

Signs Its Time to Replace Preventively:

Overheating under AC load

Rusty coolant

Strange belt noise

Minor leakage around pump

Best Practice:

Replace the pump alongside the timing belt o r fan belt change

Use OEM-quality part like GMB Japan, not Chinese o r local brands

Always flush the radiator and refill with proper coolant when installing a new pump
