Transmission fluid is vital for smooth operation, yet often neglected. What’s the recommended fluid change interval for the Wagon R, and what are the symptoms and risks of running old o r low transmission fluid?

Transmission fluid is critical for lubrication, cooling, and smooth gear shifts. For the Suzuki Wagon R:

Recommended interval:

Manual transmission: Every 40,000–50,000 km

Automatic/AMT transmission: Every 30,000–40,000 km or as per owners manual

If you dont change it:

Fluid becomes dirty and loses its viscosity.

Shifting becomes hard o r delayed.

Components like clutches and gears wear out faster.

Risk of total transmission failure increases significantly.

Tip: Always use the recommended fluid type consult your owner’s manual. Flushes are not always recommended a full o r partial drain and refill is safer for older vehicles.
