Is a Weak Radiator Fan the Reason Behind My Wagon Rs Overheating?

Is a Weak Radiator Fan the Reason Behind My Wagon Rs Overheating?

During hot weather, especially when driving slowly o r idling, the engine heats up too much. Someone suggested that the radiator fan might be underperforming. Is radiator fan failure o r weakness a known problem in Suzuki Wagon R in Pakistan?

Absolutely. The radiator fan is critical in maintaining engine temperature when the car is stationary o r moving slowly. In many Wagon R vehicles in Pakistan, the fan motor becomes weak over time o r the fan relay/fuse may fail, causing the fan not to turn on when needed. This is worsened by dusty conditions, which affect fan performance.

How to confirm:

Let the engine idle and observe if the fan kicks in when the temperature gauge rises.

Listen for fan noise o r vibration.

Check the fan relay, fuse, and motor connections.

Fix: Replace the fan motor o r check wiring and relays. Cleaning the fan blades and radiator fins also improves cooling efficiency.
