Transmission Malfunction Light in DFSK Glory 580 – Should I Be Worried?

Yesterday, my DFSK Glory 580 2020 model, Islamabad showed a “Transmission Malfunction” warning on the dashboard. The vehicle entered limp mode and wouldnt go above 40 km/h. I restarted the car and the warning disappeared, but I’m worried it might come back. Has anyone else faced this in Pakistan? Is this a minor sensor issue o r does it lead to full gearbox failure? What should be the first step in diagnosing it?

Yes, you should take this warning seriously even if it went away after restarting. The “Transmission Malfunction” light typically means the CVT control module has detected something abnormal. Heres what you should do:

Diagnostic Scan: First, get an OBD-II scan from a reliable mechanic o r dealership. This will show stored error codes even if the light has disappeared.

Common causes:

CVT fluid pressure loss

Electrical issues in the transmission sensors

Temperature sensor malfunction

ECU glitch can sometimes be reset

Limp mode is a protective measure to avoid further damage. If it happens again, avoid driving until the issue is diagnosed.

Some Pakistani users have reported similar issues caused by low fluid level o r faulty transmission sensors, both of which are cheaper to fix than a full gearbox replacement.
