What causes Jeep Cherokee windows to move slowly o r get stuck halfway in Pakistan’s dusty climate?

My 2014 Jeep Cherokees windows have become very slow and sometimes get stuck halfway while going up o r down, especially in summer. I drive in Lahore where it’s quite dusty. Is this due to dirty window tracks, weak motors, o r something else? How can I fix o r prevent this in local conditions?

This is a very common issue in hot and dusty cities like Lahore, Multan, and Quetta.

🔍 Main Reasons:

Dust and grime buildup in the window channels

Dry o r hardened rubber seals causing friction

Weak o r aging window motor

Poor lubrication of the window track and regulator mechanism

🛠 Solutions:

Spray silicone lubricant inside the window channels not oil-based — it attracts more dust.

Clean the rubber channels with mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly.

If still slow, check motor voltage — if it s under load, the motor may need replacement.

Avoid using windows unnecessarily on dusty roads to prolong motor and track life.

✅ Tip: Apply lubricant every few months to keep windows running smooth in Pakistani conditions.
