Why is my Jeep Cherokee pulling to one side when braking — are worn brake pads the cause?
Whenever I apply the brakes on my 2014 Jeep Cherokee, it pulls slightly to the left. A mechanic in Rawalpindi told me it might be due to uneven brake pad wear. Is that accurate, o r could it be a caliper o r suspension issue? What’s the best way to confirm and fix this?

Yes, uneven brake pad wear is one of the most common causes of a vehicle pulling to one side when braking, but it’s not the only one.
🔍 Other Possible Causes:
One caliper is sticking especially if only one pad wears faster.
Brake hose failure causing uneven pressure.
Suspension alignment o r bushing wear.
Uneven tire wear o r low tire pressure.
🛠 Recommended Action:
Have a mechanic inspect brake pads on both sides — they should wear evenly.
Check the caliper slides and piston movement.
Inspect brake hoses for internal blockages o r collapse.
Perform a wheel alignment check and verify tire condition.
✅ Tip: If one side’s pad is much thinner, the caliper on that side may be sticking o r not releasing fully — a common issue after years of city driving o r lack of maintenance.
