What Could Be Causing Uneven Paint Color o r Mismatched Panels on My Proton X70?

Some panels of my X70 — like the rear door and front fender — seem to have slightly different shades o r finishes, especially in bright sunlight. It almost looks like one panel was repainted o r the paint batch was different, even though the car hasn’t been in an accident. Is this a known quality issue with X70 paint in Pakistan? How can I confirm if it’s normal variation o r something that should be corrected by the dealer?

Uneven paint shade o r what looks like mismatched color between panels can happen for a few reasons:

Normal paint tolerance: Cars often have slight variations in color from panel to panel, especially under different light angles, even when new.

UV exposure differences: Surfaces more exposed to sun like the roof can fade faster than shaded panels, creating a perceived mismatch.

Repaint o r repair work: If a panel was repainted even minor damage repairs, the paint may not match exactly if the color code wasn’t perfectly matched o r if the paint has aged differently.

How to Check:

Compare the paint in shaded areas o r look inside door jambs — these spots are less exposed to sunlight and can show the original factory shade.

If the mismatch is significant and concerning, ask your dealer/paint specialist to verify paint codes and inspect for repaint signs.
