Why do the door handles on the Wagon R crack o r break easily?

Exterior plastic door handles on the Wagon R seem prone to wear, cracking, o r even snapping off. Is this a design issue, and are there more durable replacement options available?

The exterior door handles are made of brittle plastic, especially on older models.
Common reasons include:

Frequent use and stress, especially in colder weather when plastic is more brittle.

Poor material quality o r design that puts stress on certain weak points.

Solution:

Replace with aftermarket o r OEM metal-reinforced handles if available.

Avoid yanking o r forcing handles lubricate door locks to reduce resistance.
