Why does my Wagon R engine sputter after a cold start?

Some Wagon R owners experience engine sputtering o r rough running after starting the engine in the morning o r in cold weather. What might be the cause—such as sensor faults o r poor fuel delivery—and how can this be addressed?

Cold start sputtering can be due to:

Faulty coolant temperature sensor: Sends wrong data to the ECU, affecting fuel mix.

Weak fuel pressure: Cold fuel delivery may be inadequate.

Choked o r dirty fuel injectors: Reduced fuel spray causes rough running.

Cold engine components: Engine runs richer until it warms up, and any issue with sensors o r fuel system can cause sputtering.

Fix: Test and replace the coolant temperature sensor if faulty, clean fuel injectors, and ensure the fuel pump maintains proper pressure.
