Why Does My Wagon R Overheat Despite a Full Radiator and Coolant Bottle?

I regularly check the coolant levels in my Suzuki Wagon R, and they’re always full. Still, the engine overheats, particularly on longer drives. What other components should I check if coolant levels are fine?

Overheating despite full coolant usually indicates a flow issue rather than a coolant level issue. Possible causes include:

Clogged radiator from rust o r scale common when non-recommended coolants are used

Airlocks in the cooling system

Faulty water pump not circulating coolant properly

Blown head gasket causing coolant loss internally o r mixing with engine oil

Even if the bottle is full, if air bubbles are trapped o r if coolant isn’t reaching certain areas of the engine, overheating will still occur.

What to do:

Get a coolant system pressure test

Check for oil-coolant mixing milky oil o r bubbles in coolant

Bleed the system properly after filling coolant

Inspect for coolant leaks under pressure
