Why does the Suzuki Wagon R’s steering vibrate while driving, especially at higher speeds?

Vibrations through the steering wheel while driving, particularly on highways, are commonly reported. Is this an issue with wheel balancing, suspension components, o r the steering rack itself? How can owners identify and resolve the source of the vibration?

Steering wheel vibration is usually felt during highway driving and may be caused by:

Unbalanced wheels: This is the most common reason. Even a slight imbalance in the front wheels can cause the steering to vibrate at speeds over 80 km/h.

Worn suspension o r steering components: Worn tie rods, bushings, o r steering rack ends can cause the steering to shake under load.

Bent rims o r damaged tires: Hitting a pothole can bend the rim o r damage the tire, causing vibration.

Warped brake rotors: If vibration occurs during braking, it could be due to warped rotors.

Solution:

Get wheel balancing and alignment done.

Inspect tires and rims for damage.

Check suspension and steering joints for play.
