Why is my Suzuki Wagon R giving poor fuel average in city traffic conditions?
I own a 2021 Suzuki Wagon R VXL, and I’ve noticed that the fuel average in city traffic has ped to around 10–11 km/l, even though the company claims 17–20 km/l. I mostly drive in Karachi with AC on. I’ve recently done engine oil change and tuning, but there’s no improvement. What could be the main reason for this poor mileage in urban conditions? Could it be related to the throttle body, plugs, o r driving style?

Fuel economy in dense Pakistani city traffic like Karachi o r Lahore often suffers due to:
Frequent stop-and-go driving
Use of AC
Low RPM idling
Short-distance trips where the engine doesn’t reach optimal temperature
Even if you’ve recently done tuning, the following might still affect fuel economy:
Dirty throttle body o r idle sensor
Weak spark plugs o r incorrect spark plug gap
Clogged air filter o r low-quality fuel
Engine running rich due to faulty sensors like MAF o r O2 sensor
What You Can Do:
Clean throttle body and check idle RPM
Replace o r inspect spark plugs and air filter
Ensure tire pressure is 30–32 PSI cold
Use high-octane fuel occasionally to clean internals
