Why is my Wagon R showing poor mileage after 40,000 km despite regular maintenance?

I’ve been maintaining my 2018 Suzuki Wagon R according to the schedule, but after crossing 40,000 km, the fuel average started ping gradually. It now gives me around 10 km/l in the city and 14 km/l on highways. I’ve replaced the air filter, spark plugs, and engine oil regularly. What other components should I check — like oxygen sensor, injectors, o r catalytic converter?

After 40,000 km, components start aging. Even with routine maintenance, the following can affect fuel average:

Partially clogged fuel injectors

Weak o r old O2 sensor lambda sensor which causes rich fuel mixture

Choked catalytic converter especially if car was used with low-quality fuel

CVT/Transmission oil aging if applicable to your variant

Recommended Actions:

Get fuel injector cleaning ultrasonic, not just liquid

Check O2 sensor performance via scanner live readings

Scan for error codes

Clean o r replace MAP sensor

Also consider using a full engine system cleaner and high-octane fuel for one o r two full tanks.
