Apparently, it is said that all these things will be changed in 2024. Michelin and GM are working on this project and they will introduce the version of their Uptis tyre unique puncture proof tyre system and this type of tyre will be sufficient to replicate the qualities of normal and air filled tyre. Michelin says that this Uptis tyre is made from composite rubber and resin-embedded fiberglass and it can bear the weight of car at road going speed and the improvements have been made in the material and structure. The airless tyre previous iteration could not give the support as much weight o r travel at the high speeds.

You can find different benefits of the airless tyre, which are varied. GM and Michelin shows the risk of punctures and blow outs will be eliminated and it will be life shortening wear, which is caused by over o r under inflation.

It means that tyres can be replaced less often and it can be produced in less number and the raw materials, energy and emissions are saved. Michelin claims that there are some 200 million tyres, which are damaged and they are prematurely scrapped every year. The airless tyres will be good for autonomous cars and it will demand near zero maintenance from tyre to maximize the capabilities of their operation.
