Bad News for Non Custom Paid NCP Vehicle Owners

The Punjab Home Department has taken decisive action by directing the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations to prepare and submit a comprehensive report concerning every Non Custom Paid Vehicle that has been apprehended, impounded, returned, auctioned, or disposed of across the province.

This step comes in response to instructions from the Central Apex Committee, issued under the Revised National Action Plan (NAP 2021). The committee, which convened in November last year under the leadership of the Prime Minister, emphasized the need to clamp down on all illegal activities—especially those involving Non custom vehicles.

In line with the decision, District Coordination Committees (DCCs) were mobilized to act against Unregistered car issue cases and enforce regulations. Accordingly, the Home Department called for detailed data from DIG Operations on all recent operations targeting Custom paid cars across Punjab.

To ensure compliance, the Additional Inspector General (AIG) Operations, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, issued directions to all Regional Police Officers (RPOs), City Police Officers (CPOs), and District Police Officers (DPOs). Their task was to collect and report relevant data about Import car problems tied to Pakistan car duty evasion.

Despite these efforts, it was revealed that, by the first week of April, the police had still not submitted the requested information. A senior police officer in Rawalpindi, when questioned, claimed ignorance of any directive related to the crackdown on Vehicle duty tax violators and Illegal vehicle news updates.

Authorities now aim to step up efforts and pursue a more aggressive strategy in the Custom duty crackdown, ensuring that all vehicles on the roads meet Car customs clearance standards.
