China Letin Auto Group to Launch EV Plant in Punjab

China Letin Auto Group has officially confirmed its entry into Pakistan’s auto industry with plans to establish a small-scale Electric Car Plant Pakistan. The upcoming Punjab EV Plant will mark a new milestone in the Pakistan EV Industry, strengthening the country’s shift toward sustainable mobility.

Meeting with Punjab Government
A high-level 15-member delegation from Letin Auto Pakistan, led by General Manager Xu Zhen, recently met Punjab’s Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, in Lahore. During the meeting, details of the Letin Auto EV Plant were discussed, along with the incentives available for investors. The government has offered full support, including a 10-year income tax holiday and duty-free import of machinery for units set up in Special Economic Zones.

Economic and Employment Benefits
Minister Hussain emphasized that the Punjab Electric Vehicle Project will generate thousands of jobs, support local industries, and enhance Punjab’s position as a leader in clean transportation. Officials noted that the initiative will also attract more global players, strengthening the base of EV Manufacturing Punjab and helping Pakistan transition toward greener mobility solutions.

Growing Presence of Chinese EV Companies
The move highlights the increasing presence of Chinese Automaker in Punjab as Letin joins other well-known brands such as BYD, MG, Dongfeng, and Deepal. The rise of the Chinese EV Factory Punjab trend reflects the growing confidence of international investors in Pakistan’s auto market.

Why Chinese EVs Fit Pakistan’s Market
Industry analysts believe that Chinese brands like Letin are well-suited for Pakistan because of their affordability, solid build quality, and advanced features. With the country’s price-sensitive consumers, these companies provide value-for-money vehicles, making them highly competitive compared to expensive European or Japanese models.

Outlook for Pakistan EV Industry
The establishment of the Letin Auto EV Plant is expected to accelerate the expansion of the Pakistan EV Industry, paving the way for more localized production, reduced import dependency, and increased consumer adoption of electric cars. With government backing and growing demand, Punjab could soon become the hub of EV development in the country.
