Daraz and Meezan Bank Launch Electric Bike Financing
Meezan Bank, a leading Islamic bank in Pakistan, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Daraz, the country's largest e-commerce platform, to facilitate and promote the adoption of electric bikes in Pakistan.
Under this partnership, Meezan Bank will offer Shariah-compliant financing solutions for electric bikes to Daraz's delivery staff and riders across the nation.
The MoU was formalized through the signatures of Syed Iftikhar ul Haq, Group Head Consumer Finance at Meezan Bank, and Ahmed Tanveer, Chief Operating Officer of Daraz Pakistan. The signing ceremony was attended by senior executives from both organizations.
Expressing his enthusiasm about the collaboration, Syed Iftikhar ul Haq stated, "We are excited to collaborate with Daraz in promoting the use of electric bikes in Pakistan. Together, we are striving to reduce emissions and provide a more cost-effective and eco-friendly transportation option that will be advantageous for both our environment and the local community."
Ahmed Tanveer added, "We are dedicated to improving the delivery experience for our customers while actively contributing to a greener and more sustainable Pakistan. Through our partnership with Meezan Bank, we aspire to not only encourage environmentally responsible practices but also offer our riders a more economically viable solution in light of escalating fuel costs."
