First Electric Vehicles Policy For Four Wheeler Announced

The Government of Pakistan is struggling hard to fully electrify the auto sector of Pakistan to reduce the environmental pollution and other problems occur due to heavy and low standard engine fuel use in vehicles.

The government, till now has made various major announcements and decisions regarding the launch, import and production of electric vehicles. Recently, Govt announced about the installation of EVs Charging Stations and decided to establish charging stations on major Highways and Motorways.

The Railway department also took a remarkable initiative in this regard and announced to provide all railways stations across the country for the establishment of the EV Charging Stations.

For Now, in a recent development, Government finally has announced the first EV Policy for the 4 wheelers electric vehicles officially.

On the official Twitter account, Ministry of Information announced the First 4 Wheelers EV Policy. On the Twitter post the ministry stated:

“Outlining several new rules related to import of vehicles, taxation, registration and customs duty.”

It’s mandatory to mention here that, Government has already approved the Mobile Device Manufacturing and EV Policy for 2 and 3 wheelers. The EV Policy for 2 and 3 Wheelers was approved by Federal Cabinet and the Economic Coordination Committee ECC on December 16
