Free Car Emissions Testing Extended Until August 31, 2025
In a significant step toward cleaner air and sustainable urban living, the Government of Punjab has officially announced the emission test extension, pushing the emissions testing deadline to August 31, 2025. This initiative is being carried out by the Environment Protection Department (EPA) to encourage vehicle owners to undergo a free emissions testing process aimed at reducing smog and enhancing public health across Punjab.
Urban centers such as Lahore have long been battling worsening air quality, largely due to rising vehicle emissions. This free car test Pakistan initiative offers motorists a cost-free way to ensure their vehicles are not contributing excessively to environmental degradation. Through this program, drivers are urged to participate in a vehicle emissions test and obtain a QR code sticker, showing compliance with environmental standards.
Eligibility Criteria for Vehicle Emissions Check
Not all vehicles are required to undergo this car emissions check. The EPA has outlined specific exemptions to make the process simple and clear:
Exempted Vehicles Include:
>> Cars and Light Transport Vehicles (LTVs) manufactured in 2022 or later
>> Vehicles up to three years old from their date of manufacture
Such vehicles are not required to undergo vehicle emissions testing or obtain the EPA-issued QR sticker. This rule is already in effect and helps streamline the overall testing process.
Where to Get Free Vehicle Inspection in Lahore
To ensure maximum participation, the government has established 20 free emissions testing booths throughout Lahore. These booths are operational six days a week to accommodate various schedules:
>> Days: Monday to Saturday
>> Time: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
>> Break: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM (Lunch/Prayer Break)
