Islamabad–Rawalpindi Rail Service Date Officially Announce

The federal government has officially advanced with the Islamabad Rawalpindi Rail Project, designed to provide residents of the twin cities with a faster, cheaper, and more reliable mode of travel. Railway Minister Abbasi revealed that the project will deploy Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs), likely to be imported from China or another country, ensuring modern facilities for passengers. The procurement process is expected to take about a month, and the formal PC-I will soon be submitted to the Planning Division. To enhance connectivity, CDA’s electric buses will work as feeder services to Margalla Station, while the existing Metro bus network will also be linked with the new rail system.
