Who Can Apply and How?

The program is open to all who buy an electric bike—but only if it's a brand-new electric motorcycle purchased after December 2024. Once you’ve made the purchase, you’ll need to register through the official online portal. Key information required includes:

Registration number and chassis number
Bike registration documents

After submission, a government representative will schedule a visit for electric bike verification. If everything checks out, you’ll receive an initial payment of Rs. 50,000.

Track and Earn with the Green Credit App

To claim the remaining Rs. 50,000, participants must ride their electric bike for 6,000 kilometers within six months of registration. This usage is tracked via the Green Credit App, which must be connected to your motorcycle. Once the app verifies your distance, the second installment will be issued—bringing the total benefit to Rs. 100,000.

This ensures that bikes are being actively used, not just purchased for a quick bonus. It promotes responsible commuting and helps cut down on fuel usage.

Why This Matters for Punjab’s Future

This initiative is a key part of the Punjab bike policy that aims to curb emissions and shift the province toward a sustainable transport system. In the current fiscal year, the target is to replace 2,000 petrol bikes and 250 fossil-fuel vehicles with electric alternatives, potentially reducing 8,000 tonnes of carbon emissions. By 2030, the government aims for 30% of vehicles in Punjab to be electric—cutting transportation-related emissions by nearly 20%.

Important Eligibility Note

Only factory-made electric motorcycles are eligible. Any retrofitted or modified bikes will be disqualified from the program. This rule ensures safety, consistency, and genuine adoption of electric mobility.
