Car Sales in Pakistan Dive 75% in May 2020

As the coronavirus pandemic is spreading in the country, the lockdown was imposed on all sectors of business, which affected the continuity of the business in the country. The sale of the car was decreased to 75% during May 2020 and this is done because of the shutdown of the auto sector of the country. When the restrictions were eased, the automakers manage to resume the selling of their vehicles at modest quantity as compared to the zero sales during the month of April 2020. The most prominent auto manufacturers, Indus Motors and Honda Atlas Cars started their business on 19 May after opening of their plants and they managed their operation for only 13 days during the last month. Trucks and Buses:

It is reported that the Isuzu sold total 56 trucks in May 2020 and Hino sold 3 vehicles during the last month. It is also reported that no buses were sold last month like April 2020 and there was the overall of 47% of the trucks and buses during the current fiscal year as the sales of the 3380 units was remained ped from 6351 units during the same period of the last year.
Jeeps, Pick-Ups and Tractors:
The report shows that the 77 jeeps, 650 pickups and 1849 farm tractors were sold during the last month and the sales of the jeeps was ped by 33% from 7009 of the previous year to 3217 during May this year.

Bikes & Three Wheelers

It is stated in the report that 38167 two and three wheelers were sold during May 2020, which is low as compared to 154,782 units being sold in the same month of the previous year and the sales of bikes and rickshaws was ped of 27% as the previous year same month has the total sale of the two and three wheelers was 1.22 million units.

Reason Behind Slow Down Sales of Vehicles:

The federal government has imposed the excessive government taxes and FED, the auto mobile sector has experienced this massive slow down. After the Coronavirus pandemic was also out broken in the country, for which the government has to impose the lockdown, which has affected the auto industry and almost all of the segments of the society. The manufacturing and assembling plants were closed down and the dealership of the companies also shut down their businesses. All these factors led to total closure and stoppage of the activities of the sale and purchase of cars, bikes and other automobile vehicles.
