Car Sales in Pakistan s to Lowest Level after 2009

Pakistani auto industry is going to suffer from the difficulties because of hindering in production and increase in the prices and Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association recorded the lowest car sales in Pakistan since the financial year 2009. It has been reported that 8446 units have been sold in Pakistan during June 2020 and the estimated additional 1000 units have been sold by non registered automakers in Pakistan like FAW, Kia, Prince, United etc and it resulted into 52% year on year sales reduction in June 2020. The report shows that the month on month sales of the cars have increased significantly after the relaxation in the lockdowns due to COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Before this, Toyota Indus Motors has observed the 199% MoM growth in sales and Honda Atlas Cars observed the monthly growth of sales of 514% and it resulted into overall growth of 77% in car sales volume.

The report shows the slight picture of the total car sales volume, which has been lowly 110,583 units during the financial year of 2020, which resulted into lowest sales since financial year 2019 with Honda Atlas cars have been recorded 63%, Toyota Indus has recorded the sales of 53% and Pak Suzuki recorded the sales of 49% year on year sales reduction. 

In the segment of bike, you can find that the bike sales business picket up significantly with Atlas Honda to report 644% MoM growth and sold over 90,000 units in June 2020. The Atlas Honda has year on year sales for bikes still down during the financial year 2020, which is the lowest since 2016. After the announcement of the budget for the financial year 2020-21, this is the recent price hike and it has put the question mark whether the automakers will bounce back from recent setbacks. It is shown from the report that after ending of the lockdown, it has shown some betterment in sales of the cars and bikes.
