Online Dealer Vehicle Registration System in Punjab

Few days ago, the launching of online Dealer Vehicular System DVS was inaugurated by CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
Instead of visiting the taxation department, now the owners of new vehicles can apply for registration at the point of sale. The dealers can use their own channels to order license plates for their customers.
During this opening ceremony, CM said that this new process will provide peaceful opportunity for the people to register their cars. It will also help to save them from agent mafia.
He added that the fight against terrorism is underway in the country while fake and illegal number plates will be eradicated through this step which will hurt the terrorists.
The govt. officials and citizens will be benefited from this step as the sale of stolen cars will be minimized through this step.
But the Excise and Taxation Department of Punjab told that providing maximum convenience to the purchasers of motor vehicles is the main objective of this move.
Now several famous dealers from various big cities are ready to support this system. Earlier, it was told that 15 dealers from districts of Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, DG Khan and Multan wil soon get the license.
The Special Monitoring Unit’s SMU Law & Order Department planned the DVRS in collaboration with Punjab IT Board and Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control department. The database of NBP is also connected with the portal in the following ways.
• Customer pays registration fees.
• Amount till be deducted from dealer’s account.
• It will be transferred to the government online.
• Automated receipt will be generated for the customer.
• Customer will be given the license plate after payment.
• Registration book will be sent to E&T department after verification.
This step will not only save time for E&T department and citizens but it will also help reduce car theft after favorite targets of thieves “Applied for Registration” will be eradicated. Due to this, investigation of such cars was not possible.
