I usually wash my car at home using tap water, which I know can be quite hard in areas like Rawalpindi. Could the mineral content in the water be causing streaky residue on the windshield when I use the wipers later? What’s the best way to prevent o r clean this kind of streaking without damaging the glass?

Yes, hard water is a major cause of streaks and spots on windshields in many Pakistani cities. Minerals like calcium and magnesium leave white marks o r streaks after drying—especially if you let the car air-dry under the sun.

What to do:

Use filtered o r soft water for the final rinse if possible.

Dry the windshield with a microfiber towel immediately after washing.
