. Is the Hyundai Elantra’s fuel cap prone to cracking o r wear in Pakistani weather?

After just over a year of use in hot conditions Lahore, I noticed my Elantras fuel cap has developed small cracks. Is this due to poor-quality plastic used in local models, o r are Pakistan’s extreme temperatures a factor?
