. Why does my Jeep Cherokee battery keep dying overnight in Pakistans weather?

I have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee, and recently the battery keeps draining overnight, even though its a new one. I live in Lahore, and the mechanic said the battery is fine. Could it be a parasitic drain o r an issue with electronics like the infotainment system o r remote start? Has anyone in Pakistan faced similar battery drain issues in a Cherokee?

If your battery is draining overnight, especially with a new battery, the most likely cause is a parasitic drain—meaning something in the vehicle is using power even when the car is off.

🔍 Common Causes in Pakistan:

Faulty infotainment o r navigation system staying active.

Aftermarket accessories e.g., dash cams, alarms, HID kits drawing power continuously.

A malfunctioning remote start o r keyless entry module.

Doors o r tailgate not properly closed interior lights stay on.

Faulty BCM Body Control Module o r wiring issue.

🔧 What to Do:

Get a parasitic draw test done by an experienced electrician not just a basic battery test.

Pull fuses one by one to identify which circuit is causing the drain.

Update o r reflash the vehicle software ECU/BCM at a dealership if needed.

Always ensure all lights and accessories are off before leaving the car.

⚠️ Note: Parasitic drain is a known issue in some Jeep models, and climate alone doesnt cause it — its mostly an electrical fault.
