Are there better bulbs I can use to avoid frequent burnout on my Elantra?

After replacing my halogen headlight bulbs twice in a year, I’m wondering if there are longer-lasting alternatives compatible with my 2018 Elantra. Do LED o r HID options last longer, and are they worth upgrading to?

Yes, several upgrades are available that last longer than standard halogens:

Long-life halogen bulbs e.g., Philips LongLife, Sylvania XtraVision: These are designed for longevity and direct fit.

LED replacement bulbs: These last much longer and use less power, but you must ensure they are CAN bus compatible and correctly installed to avoid flickering o r error codes.

HID Xenon kits: These are brighter and last longer, but require ballasts and proper housing to avoid blinding other drivers. Not recommended unless youre experienced o r its a factory option.

Always check compatibility with your vehicle’s housing and ensure proper alignment to avoid glare o r reduced beam focus.
