Can a faulty radiator fan cause overheating in a Hyundai Elantra?
My 2019 Elantra in Lahore overheats mainly when the AC is on. A mechanic suggested the radiator fan might not be working properly. Could a faulty fan o r fan sensor cause engine temperature to rise quickly? How can I test this without going to a dealership?

Yes, a faulty radiator fan o r fan control module is a major cause of overheating, especially when using AC o r idling in traffic. In Pakistan, this issue is more frequent due to:
High temperatures
Poor-quality wiring o r electrical relays
Aftermarket modifications interfering with sensors
Symptoms of a faulty fan include:
Engine overheating while stationary
Cooling down only when driving at speed
AC performance s sharply
How to check:
Start the car and let it idle until it heats up with AC on
Open the hood — the radiator fan should turn on once the temperature reaches a certain point
If it doesn’t, the problem may be with the fan motor, sensor, o r wiring
Solution: Replace faulty fan motor o r control unit. Use OEM Hyundai parts for best results.
