Can a faulty water pump cause engine overheating in Suzuki Every 660cc?

My Every 660cc is overheating during traffic o r when driving uphill. The radiator and thermostat are fine. Could the water pump be the issue even if theres no visible leak?

Yes, a faulty water pump is one of the most common causes of engine overheating, especially in a small engine like the 660cc Suzuki Every. If the pump’s impeller is worn out o r broken, it won’t circulate coolant effectively, even if theres no visible leak. Signs include:

Temperature gauge rising quickly

AC performance ping when the engine gets hot

Steam from the bonnet in traffic
This is particularly common in imported Suzuki Every vans where the water pump may be old and not designed for prolonged use in Pakistan’s hot climate.
