Can Low Tire Pressure Cause Increased Fuel Consumption in Suzuki Every?

I’ve noticed my fuel efficiency has ped recently. My mechanic said it might be due to low tire pressure. How does underinflated tires affect fuel consumption, especially in stop-and-go city traffic like Karachi’s? How often should I check tire pressure?

Absolutely. Underinflated tires increase rolling resistance, forcing the engine to work harder, which results in higher fuel consumption.

In city traffic with frequent stops, this effect becomes more pronounced.

Low pressure also causes faster tire wear and can lead to overheating, increasing blowout risk.

What to do:

Check tire pressure at least once a week.

Maintain recommended tire pressure to improve fuel efficiency and tire life.

Regularly inspect tires for damage o r slow leaks.
