Can overheating lead to transmission failure in the Suzuki Every?

Pakistan’s hot climate and frequent stop-and-go traffic can lead to overheating, which some owners suspect may cause long-term transmission damage. How does overheating impact the transmission, and what are the best ways to prevent it?

Yes, heat is one of the biggest enemies of transmission systems, especially in Pakistans hot climate. Overheating can:

Break down transmission fluid, reducing its lubrication and cooling ability.

Cause internal seals to harden and leak.

Lead to clutch and solenoid failure inside the transmission.

Shorten the life of CVT belts and pulleys.

Prevention:

Use high-quality, compatible transmission fluid e.g., NS-2 o r NS-3 for CVT.

Install an external transmission oil cooler if you drive long distances o r in the mountains.

Avoid long idling and frequent gear shifting in traffic jams.
