Dashboard Lights Flicker and Car Won’t Start – Battery o r Alternator Problem in Bravo?
While driving my United Bravo, I noticed the dashboard lights flickering and the radio turning off randomly. The next day, the car wouldn’t start, and the battery seemed completely drained. I replaced the battery, but the issue came back after a week. Could this be due to a faulty alternator o r loose battery terminals? What are the most common electrical faults causing this in the Bravo?

Gari Master - on 08 Nov 2025 15:54:14 pmFlickering dashboard lights usually indicate charging system problems, not just a weak battery. In many Bravo cars, this happens due to:
🔄 Weak alternator o r loose belt. The alternator doesn’t maintain steady voltage.
🔧 Loose battery terminals o r corroded connectors.
🔌 Bad voltage regulator inside the alternator — a known issue in some Bravo units.
⚙️ Faulty grounding wire from engine to chassis.
Fix / Recommendation:
Check alternator output voltage using a multimeter. It should read 13.8–14.2V when the engine is on.
Clean and tighten battery terminals and check for corrosion.
Replace o r rebuild the alternator/regulator if voltage fluctuates.
Check the ground cable from the gearbox and body — many Bravo owners improved reliability by replacing it with a thicker wire.
