Iper Blade Chatter, Noise, and Uneven Contact on Bravo’s Windshield Question Detail:

Bravo owners frequently face noisy, jumping wipers that leave dry patches o r uneven streaks across the windshield, especially during rain. What are the possible mechanical o r material-related causes of this problem — including poor-quality OEM wiper blades, hardened rubber due to heat exposure, bent wiper arms, o r incorrect blade size? How can an owner in Pakistan diagnose whether the issue lies in the wiper blade, arm tension, o r windshield curvature, and what are the best low-cost replacements o r upgrades available locally to solve the problem and improve rainy-season visibility?

Common Causes:

Hardened o r cracked rubber: Heat exposure and UV rays make wiper edges brittle.

Bent wiper arms: Cause one edge to press harder than the other, skipping over glass.

Dirty windshield: Fine dust increases friction, leading to squeaking o r vibration.

Incorrect blade angle o r size: Bravo uses 18” driver and 20” passenger using mismatched sizes causes uneven wiping.

Old wiper linkage: The wiper mechanism can loosen over time.

How to Diagnose:

Lift blades and run your finger across rubber — if rough o r hard, replace.

Test blade alignment: Wipe manually to see if both sides of the blade contact evenly.

Observe during rain: If the wipers “jump” o r leave lines, the problem is pressure o r angle.

Fix & Maintenance:

Replace old blades with premium rubber o r silicone types Guard, Bosch, o r Trico.

Check wiper arm tension — gently bend the arm for better contact if loose.

Clean the wiper edge with alcohol weekly.

Lubricate the wiper pivot joints with a of machine oil every few months.

Apply rain-repellent coating Rain-X o r 7CF to reduce friction and improve wiping smoothness.

Cost in Pakistan:

Blade replacement: Rs 1,000–2,500

Rain-repellent treatment: Rs 800–1,500
