Does Using the Wrong Oil Grade Increase Oil Consumption in Suzuki Every?

I recently switched engine oils in my Suzuki Every and noticed an increase in oil consumption. Could using a lighter o r incorrect oil grade be the reason? What oil grade is best suited for Every in Pakistan’s climate?

Absolutely. Using an oil grade that’s too thin like 0W-20 o r 5W-20 in an older o r worn-out engine can significantly increase oil consumption. These oils flow more easily and can slip past worn seals o r rings. For Suzuki Every vans operating in Pakistan’s hot climate, and especially older models, its safer to use a thicker oil like 10W-40 o r 15W-40, which provides better sealing and lubrication. Always follow the oil recommendations suited to your engine’s age and driving conditions, and avoid switching oil brands frequently without flushing the system properly.
