How can I tell if the alternator in my Suzuki Every is failing?

My Suzuki Every’s battery light stays on while driving, and the headlights dim when I accelerate. Are these signs of a failing alternator, and how can I confirm this before replacing it?

A failing alternator usually gives several warning signs. In your Suzuki Every, if the battery warning light stays on while driving, it likely means the alternator isn’t charging the battery properly. Other signs include:

Dim o r flickering headlights

Interior lights fading

Electrical accessories like AC o r radio working poorly

Strange noises like whining o r grinding
You can confirm alternator health with a multimeter: measure voltage at battery terminals while the engine is running—it should read 13.5 to 14.5 volts. Anything lower indicates a weak o r failing alternator. You can also get it tested at most local auto-electric shops in Pakistan for a small fee.
