How does bad fuel quality in Pakistan affect the purge valve in a Hyundai Elantra?

I mostly refuel my 2019 Hyundai Elantra from local petrol stations in Karachi, and I’m concerned about fuel quality. Can substandard fuel cause the purge control valve to clog o r fail? How can I prevent damage from poor fuel?

Low-grade o r adulterated fuel in Pakistan, especially from non-PSO o r unbranded stations, contains excess impurities and additives that can:

Clog the purge valve

Cause carbon buildup in the valve and charcoal canister

Trigger random EVAP system errors

Since the purge valve handles fuel vapors and recirculates them into the engine, contaminated vapors from poor fuel accelerate internal valve damage.

Preventive tips:

Refill only from reputable stations e.g., PSO, Total, Shell

Use a fuel system cleaner every 10,000 km

Inspect the valve and hoses every 30,000–40,000 km

Replace air and fuel filters on time to prevent contamination
