Hyundai officially recommends changing the automatic transmission fluid ATF every 90,000 to 100,000 kilometers under normal conditions. However, in Pakistan—where stop-and-go traffic, heat, and dust stress the transmission—its wise to change ATF every 50,000 to 60,000 km. The correct fluid type for most 6-speed Elantra models is Hyundai SP-IV ATF check your variant to be sure. Delaying ATF changes can lead to jerky gear shifts, slipping, and long-term transmission wear.
