Is it safe to drive my Suzuki Every with a faulty alternator for short distances?

My mechanic said the alternator is weak but still functioning. I need to drive to work daily 10 km. Can I drive it like this temporarily, o r will it damage other electrical components?

It’s not recommended to drive your Suzuki Every with a faulty alternator, even for short trips. Here’s why:

If the alternator fails completely, your engine will shut down once the battery runs out of charge.

It can cause damage to your battery, which may over-discharge.

You might lose power steering o r brakes if the electrical system fails.
In an emergency, you can drive for a short distance 5–10 km only if your battery is fully charged, but it’s risky and should be avoided. Its best to get the alternator repaired o r replaced immediately.
