Is the Hyundai Elantra’s clear coat too thin compared to other sedans in Pakistan?

Ive noticed that small scratches on my Elantra are more visible compared to my previous car Toyota Corolla. A detailer mentioned the clear coat might be thinner. Is this a common issue with Elantras in Pakistan?

While there is no official confirmation from Hyundai Pakistan, many detailers and car enthusiasts report that the clear coat on the locally assembled Elantra feels thinner and less durable compared to rivals like Toyota Corolla o r Honda Civic. This makes the vehicle more susceptible to visible swirl marks and fine scratches. Contributing factors include cost-cutting during local production and the climatic exposure in Pakistan. A paint thickness gauge test can verify this. To protect your vehicle, consider:

Ceramic coating for added hardness and UV protection.

Regular waxing to maintain the protective layer.

Washing using the two-bucket method to avoid dragging dirt across the surface.
