The front passenger window on my 2018 Elantra will roll down fine, but it won’t go back up unless I use the driver’s controls. Is this an issue with the passenger-side switch, o r could it be a motor problem?

This issue is commonly related to the passenger-side window switch itself. Here’s why:

The passenger switch may be faulty, sending a signal to lower the window but not to raise it.

The drivers master switch could override o r disable the passenger switch. Try controlling the window from the drivers side.

If it works only from the drivers switch, you likely need to replace the passenger switch.

Less commonly, the motor o r regulator could be weak, and gravity helps it move down, but not up.

Replacing the switch is usually inexpensive and easy to do yourself with basic tools.
