Overheating in Traffic – Could a Stuck Thermostat Be the Reason?

My Carnival tends to overheat during long idling in Lahore’s summer traffic, even with coolant levels topped up. The radiator fan works, and there are no leaks. Could a stuck-closed thermostat be blocking coolant flow? How common is this issue in Pakistans climate, and what are the recommended diagnostic steps?
