What are the symptoms of a clogged fuel filter in a Hyundai Elantra in Pakistan?

My 2018 Elantra has been jerking occasionally and sometimes takes longer to start. I use fuel from local petrol stations in Karachi. A friend suggested it might be the fuel filter. What signs indicate a clogged fuel filter, and how does local fuel quality affect it?

Poor fuel quality is a concern in Pakistan, especially from unbranded o r roadside petrol pumps. A clogged fuel filter can result from dirt, rust particles, o r water in the fuel. If the fuel filter is blocked, fuel pressure s, and performance suffers.

Common symptoms include:

Engine hesitation o r jerking during acceleration

Difficulty starting the car

Reduced power at high speeds

Occasional stalling

Check engine warning

Recommendation:
Fuel filters on newer Hyundai Elantras are often integrated into the fuel pump, making replacement more complex. Ideally, inspect o r replace the fuel filter every 40,000 to 60,000 km, especially if you use fuel from multiple o r low-quality sources.
