What causes white spots o r oxidation on the paint of my Suzuki Every?

White chalky patches o r dullness often appear on the body of older Suzuki Every vans. Could this be due to clear coat failure o r oxidation, and how can it be prevented o r treated?

White patches o r a chalky appearance on your van’s surface usually indicate oxidation o r clear coat failure—common in older paint jobs o r poorly maintained surfaces.

Causes:

Neglected waxing o r polishing, allowing the paint to oxidize.

Environmental exposure: acid rain, pollution, and salty air especially in coastal areas.

Repeated harsh washing with detergents not meant for cars.

Fixes:

Light oxidation can be removed using polishing compound o r clay bar.

Severe oxidation may require repainting o r clear coat restoration.

Regular application of UV-protective sealants prevents future damage.
