What should I check if my Jeep Cherokee won’t start and just clicks — is it always the battery?
My 2014 Jeep Cherokee sometimes won’t start and just makes a clicking noise when I turn the key. I recently changed the battery, so I don’t think that’s the issue. Could it be the starter, alternator, o r some wiring issue? This has happened a few times now, especially after the car sits for more than a day. Any common causes in Pakistani conditions I should be aware of?

If your Jeep Cherokee clicks but doesn’t start, it isnt always the battery, though the battery is the most common cause.
🔍 Possible Causes:
Weak o r discharged battery — especially if left parked for days.
Corroded o r loose battery terminals.
Faulty starter motor o r starter solenoid.
Bad battery-to-chassis ground cable.
Failing ignition switch o r relay.
Alternator not charging the battery properly during prior drives.
🔧 What to Check:
Clean and tighten battery terminals.
Check for clicking sound — if its loud and rapid, the battery is weak.
Jump-start the vehicle:
If it starts easily after a jump, the issue is likely the battery o r alternator.
If it still just clicks, its likely a starter o r wiring issue.
Use an OBD-II scanner to check for error codes related to voltage o r starter system.
⚠️ If youre parking the car for more than 2–3 days, consider disconnecting the battery o r using a trickle charger to avoid discharge.
