Why do my Hyundai Elantra’s brake pads wear out so quickly in Pakistani city traffic?

I’ve noticed that my Elantra’s brake pads need replacement more often than expected, especially with frequent driving in cities like Lahore o r Karachi. Is this normal for local conditions, o r could something be wrong with the braking system?

Brake pads in Pakistan, especially in cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, wear out faster due to frequent stop-and-go traffic, road congestion, and aggressive braking. Driving habits such as sudden braking, hilly areas, and road dust can also contribute to faster wear. Many Elantra drivers report needing new pads every 20,000–30,000 km in city use, which is quite normal here. Its also important to check for low-quality aftermarket pads—many cheaper versions wear out quickly and compromise safety
