Why do my rear tires wear more on the outer edges in my Hyundai Elantra?

I noticed that the outer edges of my rear tires on my 2013 Elantra are wearing out faster than the center o r inner tread. I regularly check tire pressure, so could it be something else like alignment o r suspension?

Outer edge wear on rear tires is usually due to:

Underinflation

Positive camber angle wheel tilting outward

Aggressive cornering o r poor suspension geometry

For the Elantra:

Make sure tires are inflated to the recommended PSI found in the door jamb.

Check the rear alignment. Even though the rear isn’t adjustable on all models, worn bushings o r control arms can still throw it off.

Replace worn trailing arms o r bushings, if necessary.

Improper inflation is often overlooked—check pressure monthly, especially in colder weather.
