Why does my Elantra window roll down slowly o r get stuck halfway?

The rear windows on my 2015 Elantra roll down very slowly and sometimes get stuck halfway. Is this a sign of a failing window motor, dirty tracks, o r something else?

A slow o r stuck window usually indicates a mechanical issue rather than electrical:

Dirty o r dry window tracks: Dirt o r old grease in the channels can slow the glass down. Try spraying silicone lubricant in the window tracks.

Worn window motor: A weak motor can’t provide enough force, especially in cold weather.

Regulator binding: If the regulator’s cables o r gears are damaged o r misaligned, movement may be uneven o r slow.

Glass misalignment: The window may be tilted slightly off-track inside the door.

Start with cleaning and lubricating the tracks. If that doesn’t help, the door panel may need to be removed to inspect the motor and regulator.
